"An icon of the American West"
This Mustang, launched by Former Ford President Lee Iacocca, represented a new 2+2 sports car designed according to precise specifications that were completely ahead of their time. They were, namely, a maximum weight of 1,200 kg and maximum length of 4.5 m, all for a fixed price of $2,500. For its launch, the car was completely dismantled and the pieces were taken by lift to the top of the Empire State Building, where it was then reconstructed. This extravagant inauguration foretold this car’s destiny as a standout star of cinema. Seen in numerous classic films (with over 3,000 under its belt), such as A Man and a Woman (Claude Lelouch, 1966), Bullitt (Peter Yates, 1968) and Goldfinger (Guy Hamilton, 1964), it is a genuine symbol of the American Dream.
